Goyang - One Mount Waterpark

From Sinchon station, we had a 2-hour train ride to Juyeop station. From Exit 4, go straight toward Seohyeon Plaza and take a left. There is also a shuttle bus service at either Juyeop station or Pungsan station at the fixed timing as shown below.

Before heading there, we had our lunch at a Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of Hyundai Department Store. Their jjajangmyeon was delicious! They also have a ₩9,000 set meal for one which consist of either a bowl of jjajangmyeong or jjangbongmyeon and some other dishes. After lunch, we surprised Guohao with a Paris Baguette cake and having Cold Stone ice cream and patbingsoo because it was his birthday!

Huge minon

I fell in love with jjajangmyeon after eating this!

Your trip is never complete if you did not try any patbingsoo in Korea!

It is a short walk from Hyundai Department Store. Situated inside the Hallyu World and KINTEX Land in Seo-gu, Ilsan, One Mount is the largest multi-cultural space in the northwest metropolitan region. It is housed in three buildings with two underground floors and nine aboveground floors. One Mount features a shopping mall, snow park, water park, and members-only luxury sports club, and organizes various performances, events, and parties year round. Its water park is the third-largest among theme parks in the country and its indoor snow park the biggest.

The water park consists of nine slides and 18 pools with a ''carnival’’ beach that has five different types of waves. The snow park, which its designers said was benchmarked after the ''Santa Village’’ in Finland, consists of an ice road, an ice lake, and seven theme caves. It regularly hosts ice shows in the fairytale-like setting. The theme park is connected to a large shopping mall on the outside which consists of SPA brands and a beauty cluster where visitors can get their hair, wigs, nails, massage, or plastic surgery done.

We decided to go One Mount water park because Carribean Bay was expensive during the time of visit. The water park was recently opened in May 2013. If you realised, Running Man actually went to One Mount water park in episode 145.

We bought the after 3pm ticket, which cost ₩39,000 instead of ₩50,000. Unlike the water park in Singapore, we each have a locker for our shoes and bag. Also, towels are provided for us when washing up, and an area for us to dry our hair.

The number on the receipt is the locker number.

The key that opens both the shoes locker and bag locker.

The indoor water park

Have to take the lift to the outdoor water park

The two main slides for the water park

This slide actually twirls around the outside of the water park.

We spent a nice 5 hours playing in the water park. However, I was a little disappointed with the water park. 1) We had to rent a life vest if we wanted to play the wave pool in the indoor water park. 2) We had to wear a cap if we wanted to enter the sauna or wave pool. It can be any cap, not necessary a swimming cap. But overall, it was a great experience playing there!

Before heading back to Seoul, we had a nice dinner at this small Japanese restaurant, which is near the entrance.

It's best not to leave the area too late because it will be a long walk back to the train station. You may end up making the wrong turn, and wasting time trying to track back your way.
